Is a Used Tesla Model 3 Worth It? My 10-Week Deep Dive

I just wrapped up 10 weeks with a used 2021 Model 3 Long Range, and I’m here to spill the tea. My biggest takeaway? It felt shockingly like a brand new car. Software updates kept the tech fresh, and the condition was pristine. It even fooled my friends into thinking it was a £60k+ vehicle!

This raises a big question: is Tesla’s over-the-air update model the future of car ownership? Will these cars age like fine wine, constantly improving with time? Or will there be a point where the hardware can’t keep up?

The driving experience was mostly fantastic. The performance, tech integration, and that huge front windscreen are all big wins. Enhanced Autopilot was surprisingly smooth, too. However, the ride was a bit stiff, especially in the back. Anyone else experience this?

Range anxiety was minimal. I regularly saw over 300 miles on a full charge, even in winter. This begs another question: how will these batteries hold up long-term? Will we see a significant drop in range after 5, 7, or 10 years?

There were some minor gripes. The indicators were finicky, and I missed Apple CarPlay. Also, while the pre-heating feature was a game-changer in cold weather, the wipers were sometimes slow on the uptake. Small quirks, but worth mentioning.

So, would I recommend a used Model 3? Absolutely, especially through Tesla’s Certified Pre-Owned program. But I’m curious to hear your thoughts. What are your experiences with used Teslas? What are the long-term ownership prospects? Let the discussion begin!
